In organizations that deal with socio-economic development, program officers can and do handle many of their analysis needs within their agencies. Yet they may lack the staff and time (or the luxury of distance from their subject) to meet all of these needs. DACS undertakes analysis in the following areas: human development, human rights, gender, and the media.
DACS analysis is special because we:
-
Keep the social, economic, political and environmental dimensions of development in view when working on a specific subject area.
-
Ensure that problem analysis is multi-disciplinary and comprehensive, and yet that the definition of possible solutions is very focused.
-
Draw on first-hand knowledge of the experience of countries around the world to inform the analysis. In addition to full command of English, partners have good working knowledge of French, Arabic, German, and Spanish.
-
Address development issues at the policy level and/or at the program and project management level, as appropriate.
-
Tap extensive networks to pull in other expertise in specific areas, if this is necessary for the purposes of comprehensive analysis. DACS thus spares the client the task of searching for additional expertise, and the worry of whether such expertise is of the requisite quality: DACS always guarantees a quality product.
-
If a client has already produced some or all of the analysis required, then DACS can communicate this through a variety of formats, including reports, manuals, guides, brochures, press kits, presentations, and scripts. DACS networks include qualified professionals in journalism, film, and photography.
-
Last but not least, the experience of the DACS Director in organizational change makes it possible to advise clients on how best to use the results of their work to position their department within their agencies, or their organization vis-a-vis other agencies.
